Teenager killed leaning out of train near MalvernA 17-year-old boy was killed when he was hit by an object as he leant out of a train travelling through Melbourne's south-east.
The teenager, from Beaumaris, was with two friends in the rear carriage when the accident happened just before 9:30pm on Friday night.
It is believed he was struck by a fixed object when the Metro Trains service was about 200 metres from Malvern railway station.
Paramedics tried to revive the boy at the scene but he died in hospital a short time later.
Metro Trains said it was reviewing its CCTV footage to assist police with their investigation.
