Man questioned over decapitated cat at house on Queensland*s Gold Coast (ABC)

View Comments

A man has been questioned about the mutilation of a cat on Queensland's Gold Coast, but no charges have been laid.

The cat was decapitated and its blood used to scrawl a threatening message on a garage door at an Arundel house.

Police and the RSPCA both described the incident as horrendous.

Officers were called to the home shortly before 3:00am (AEST) on Tuesday.

The words "Whers my money? Tik tok! [sic]" were scrawled on the garage door.

A burnt-out car was also found in the driveway and the cat's head was left on top of the property's front door.

The RSPCA has offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to a conviction over the incident.

The man questioned by police was released without charge.
