Queensland's deputy premier has intensified his attack on Clive Palmer, accusing him of buying state MPs.
Jeff Seeney, who has previously used parliamentary privilege to call Mr Palmer a crook, says the mining magnate bought Liberal National Party defectors Alex Douglas and Carl Judge in 2012.
"He couldn't buy this government, he couldn't buy us, so he bought the member for Gaven and he bought the member for Yeerongpilly and started his own party," Mr Seeney told parliament on Friday.
Mr Seeney also accused Mr Judge of this week asking Premier Campbell Newman a loaded question in parliament about the Galilee Basin, where Mr Palmer has considerable mining holdings.
"Just before the member for Yeerongpilly came in here and asked a question about Clive Palmer's business interests," Mr Seeney alleged.
This week, Mr Newman launched a legal defence against Mr Palmer, who is suing him for defamation.
Mr Palmer alleges the premier damaged his reputation by describing him in an April media conference as "a guy who tried to buy ... my government".
But in the defence claim, Mr Newman's lawyers say the comment was in the public interest.
The premier's legal case alleges Mr Douglas and Mr Judge received "substantial gifts" from Mr Palmer and his companies to switch allegiances to the Palmer United Party.
