ABC Police say the Hervey Bay chapter of the Rebels have been accused of targeting young girls.Police are investigating claims that underage girls were drugged and raped at a motorcycle gang clubhouse in southern Queensland.
The Hervey Bay chapter of the Rebels Motorcycle Club folded about a year ago after the clubhouse burned down.
Detective Inspector Bruce McNab says police have received various reports alleging that during its operations, members of the club took underage girls to the Urangan building where they were drugged and raped.
"The information we have is that it would have been extremely traumatic and degrading for them," he said.
Inspector McNab says since the statewide crackdown on bikies, victims have been more willing to report past crimes.
"The victims of these packs would have seen that drive by these police officers to prevent this club from reforming," he said.
"Since that legislation, that has continued and intensified."
Inspector McNab says allegations have emerged that the gang targeted young local girls.
"Members of that criminal organisation were taking underage girls back to the clubhouse for the purposes of having sex with them," he said.
"Some of these girls were doing it and being paid in drugs, and other ones were being drugged and then unknowingly members of the club were having sex with them."
He is urging anyone with information to come forward.
