Two hurt in gas blast (AAP)

A man and a teenage boy have suffered burns after an LPG cylinder exploded in Adelaide.

The Metropolitan Fire Service says the blast occurred as the pair were trying to remove the tank from a car powered by gas.

It's believed they failed to properly isolate the cylinder while working on the car at a property at suburban Morphett Vale on Thursday.

Both the man and the boy were treated at the scene and later admitted to hospital where they were reported to be in a serious but stable condition.

The incident came after another blast on Monday when a four-year-old girl suffered burns to her upper legs when a disposable propane canister exploded at a school north of Adelaide.

She was seated directly in front of a frypan that was being heated by the cylinder connected to a small cooker when a build-up of leaking gas ignited.
