The elderly parents of Australian journalist Peter Greste say they are shattered by an Egyptian court's decision to jail him for seven years.
Lois and Juris Greste say they'll never stop fighting for the release of their son, and for the principle of freedom of speech.
"This is a very dark time not only for our family, but for journalism generally," Mr Greste told reporters in Brisbane on Tuesday.
