Taser victim jailed for assault (AAP)

Police taser victim Kevin John Spratt has been jailed for 14 months and fined $800 for a spate of offences committed just days after the officers were found guilty of assaulting him.

Spratt, 45, appeared in Perth's Magistrates Court on Wednesday via video link from Hakea Prison to face 11 charges, including assaulting a public officer.

Spratt was arrested in January, just days after two police were convicted of assaulting him by repeatedly tasering him at the East Perth Watch House in August 2008.

The court heard on Wednesday that Spratt's offending, which mainly occurred over January 23 and 24, was triggered by the stress of a relationship breakdown and the unwanted publicity from the tasering case.

The magistrate said while Spratt had entered an early guilty plea and there were mitigating circumstances that sparked his offending, the incidents - particularly spitting at police officers - were too serious to warrant a suspended sentence.

Spratt will be eligible for parole in two months and has already served five months in custody.
