Victoria has not experienced the last of the windy conditions which has already resulted in injury, caused building damage and widespread power outages.

The Bureau of Meteorology says while we saw the most intense winds for the week on Tuesday, it expected to issue a severe weather warnings for the remainder of the week.

The State Emergency Service received more than 2500 calls for help from midnight to 3pm on Tuesday.

More than 80,000 homes were also left without power across the state with the worst-hit areas Bacchus Marsh, Werribee, Point Cook, Bendigo, Bundoora, Watsonia North, Monbulk and the Mornington Peninsula.

During the wild weather, a woman was injured after a brick wall collapsed in Yarraville and several drivers were hurt by trees falling onto roads and their cars.

In Melbourne a woman was lucky to escape serious injury when she was struck by roof sheeting.

Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Kevin Parkyn said the intense weather system affecting the whole state hits Victoria only once every few years.

"We're in for a windy week, so it's not over yet, although we have seen the most intense winds for the week," Mr Parkyn said.
