Thousands of dead fish have washed up on Tasmania's east coast.
Juvenile fish, both dead and alive, have been found on the shores of Scamander bay, Binalong Bay and Little Beach.
The Tasgame Fishers Association's John McGiveron says the fish have been washing up for days and authorities are investigating.
"There's all sorts of theories out there, some are quite wild and some probably have some substance," he said.
"I've heard theories that it may be a temperature change, or an algae problem, but this is not based on any science because the scientific people are working on it now and they have samples."
