A teenage girl has died after being hit by a car in northern Tasmania.
Police said the 15-year-old had gotten off a bus and walked behind it yesterday evening.
She was then hit by a car as she crossed the West Tamar Highway near Sidmouth just after 6pm (AEST).
She was treated by paramedics at the scene but died later at Launceston General Hospital.
The car was being driven by a 47-year-old man from Ravenswood.
Police are investigating and will prepare a report for the coroner.
