Wests Tigers coach Mick Potter has survived the axe for the time being after the club's board announced it will hold off making a decision about his future until the end of the season.
News Corp reported on Sunday morning the Tigers were set to sack Potter and his future was further clouded after *his side lost 28-12 to St George Illawarra at the Olympic stadium*.
But the Tigers released a statement Sunday evening, outlining the club would put contract negotiations with Potter on hold until the end of the club's 2014 campaign.
"The Board and Management fully support the coaching staff and players and want to give them every chance to push towards a top eight finish this season," the statement read.
