A man is in a serious condition in the Royal Adelaide Hospital after a fire at the Waikerie Hotel-Motel in the Riverland.
Police say the blaze started in a room on the top floor just after 8:00pm ACST on Thursday.
A man believed to have been staying at the motel got serious burns and was airlifted to Adelaide for medical treatment.
The premises in McCoy Street were evacuated and police say no-one else was hurt.
The Country Fire Service managed to contain the fire to two rooms and the damage bill has been estimated at $50,000.
Authorities say it is the second at the hotel in three years.
