Man dies after shooting at Epping in Melbourne's north A nurse tried to save her dying neighbour after a fatal shooting in Epping in Melbourne's north last night.
Nurse Debbie Tuckerman says she raced into her neighbour's home after she heard about six shots fired at the house in Plowman's Court just after 11:00pm (AEST).
"I just immediately went over there, performed CPR, tried to find a pulse, couldn't find it," she said.
"In this time the ambulance arrived and so I just assisted them."
Her husband Gary says the victim had been shot in the chest and his wife was very frightened.
"She's very shaken up but she's tried to help the guy out but she couldn't do anything for him. I do know him, he's a good bloke," he said.
A second man at the scene was taken to hospital with leg wounds.
Homicide squad detectives are investigating the shooting.
Police believe a number of offenders ran away from the scene.
They are asking for anyone with information to contact them.
