A Vietnam Airlines flight departing from Melbourne Airport this morning had to abandon take-off after an engine failed.
A passenger on the plane told ABC local radio that the nose of the plane was just leaving the ground when something went wrong.
The passenger, Peter, says the plane pulled up suddenly and came to a halt on the runway where it sat for about 30 minutes before finally moving towards the terminal.
He says passengers were told that engine two failed.
Emergency crews are on the scene and Peter says everyone is safe but anxious.
Melbourne Airport says the flights were disrupted for about 40 minutes due to a disabled plane.
All flights have returned to normal but there are some delays.
