Carlton footballer Jeff Garlett has suffered a cut to the head after he was allegedly assaulted outside a bar in Melbourne.
Garlett, who turned 25 on Sunday, was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital for treatment following the alleged attack in the early hours of Sunday, Fairfax Media said.
A police spokeswoman confirmed a 25-year-old Pascoe Vale man suffered lacerations to his head following an assault outside a bar on Lonsdale Street about 5.10am on Sunday.
Four men were arrested at the scene and charged, police said.
A 26-year-old Hampton East man, a 24-year-old from Endeavour Hills, a 22-year-old from Oakleigh and a 26-year-old from Springvale have all been charged with affray, recklessly cause injury, unlawful assault and other assault related offences.
They will appear at the Melbourne Magistrates' Court on October 28.
