A 69-year-old woman has been dragged from bed and struck in the face during an early morning robbery of her northern NSW home, police say.
The break-in occurred in the early hours of Thursday morning, with the woman awoken by loud noises coming from her Tweed Heads' living room.
Police say the man went into the woman's room, pulled her from the bed and hit her in the face, then stole a small amount of cash before fleeing on foot.
The woman suffered minor injuries as a result of the assault.
The man was described as Caucasian, young with a slim build and of average height, wearing a dark, chequered hoodie that covered his face.
