Teenager drowns after NSW river rope swing (AAP)

A teenager has drowned after swinging off a rope and jumping into a river west of Sydney.

Police divers found a 19-year-old's body in the Hawkesbury River at Windsor about 6pm on Saturday.

The Norwegian national's friends raised the alarm after the teenager failed to resurface after using a rope swing to jump into the river.

The teenager is the third person confirmed drowned in NSW waterways in three days. A fourth person remains missing, feared drowned.

Michael Ryall, 16, drowned while fishing with his brother at Wentworth Falls Lake in the Blue Mountains on Wednesday.

Further north on Saturday, police found the body of a man who jumped into rough seas at Wybung Head to rescue his wife.

His wife was safely washed back onto the rocks.

Another man who jumped in to help the woman is still missing, feared drowned.
