Western Sydney Wanderers beat Guizhou Renhe 5-0 to top Asian Champions League group and advance to next round (ABC)

The Western Sydney Wanderers confirmed top spot in their Asian Champions League group with a 5-0 thrashing of Guizhou Renhe on Tuesday night.

The Wanderers progress to the next round of the Champions League after a comprehensive display against an under-strength Chinese side.

The hosts were off to a flyer when Shannon Cole bagged the opener after good work from Antony Golec found the forward, who hit the volley on the spin to beat the keeper.

Labinot Haliti put the game to bed with a composed finish, doubling the Wanderers' lead on xx minutes.

Aaron Mooy then slotted home a penalty after 5 was brought down in a congested box.

But the best was still to come when, with five minutes left of normal time, Shinji Ono rifled home a stunning volley from outside the box after a weak punched clearance from the keeper.

Nicolai Topor-Stanley still had time to round things off with a scrappy goal from a corner a few minutes later.

More to follow.

Western Sydney:* 5 (S Cole 6', L Haliti 74', A Mooy pen 80', S Ono 85', N Topor-Stanley 88')
Guizhou Renhe:* 0
